Qualitative Moderator

Bellomy is looking for an experienced qualitative researcher and moderator with excellent analytical, collaboration, and consulting skills. A high level of passion, motivation, and excellent communication skills are required to manage a very diverse slate of work, clients, and team members. Flexibility to work on multiple projects, a natural aptitude for organization, and action-based deliverable creation are important in this fast-paced environment. 

You should be a self-starter, dynamic, and curious, seasoned enough to operate independently and see your research work as a true craft. We prefer you to be well-versed in CPG, retail, financial services, healthcare and utility industries, as well as have experience leading clients in these fields. Due to the nature of the work, this position will require some travel with 20-40% time in the field.

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as the lead qualitative expert and moderator across multiple accounts, collaborating with researchers to develop overall design of research efforts including data collection, analysis, and reporting. 
  • Ensure overall client satisfaction and work with account leads to manage client relationships to generate repeat business.
  • Assist in developing innovative approaches, activities and methodologies that will result in outstanding insights for our clients and differentiate Bellomy as a partner.
  • Maintain high levels of satisfaction among our current accounts, and assist company principals in winning new ones.
  • Play the role of lead moderator/interviewer in the gathering of insights in-person or through a virtual platform, primarily through focus group moderation, in-depth interviews, in-store intercepts, etc. Experience with online qualitative tools is highly desired. 
  • Play a leadership role on a cross functional team; collaborate with the team to seamlessly integrate qualitative insights with quantitative findings.
  • Help sustain a profitable, stable, and growth-oriented business, consistent with delivering the highest quality of thinking and output.
  • Provide staff training, mentorship, and development, including being an internal advisor and resource for sophisticated qualitative methodologies.

Skills/qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in qualitative consumer insights (supplier side a must; experience with B2C and B2B a must).
  • Trained, experienced, and passionate interview and ethnography skills. (Experience with more innovative methodologies and approaches strongly preferred.)
  • Methodological design experience is a must.
  • Previous project management experience; clear understanding of project set-up, recruiting, familiarity working with an expanded team, i.e. agency, corporate, consultants, freelancers.
  • Experience in running hybrid studies, familiarity and understanding of quantitative analyses.
  • Experience with c-level presentations and interviews. 
  • Ability to succinctly and visually represent key insights, familiarity with the creation of frameworks, and experience synthesizing data are all musts.
  • Strong storytelling and PowerPoint design skills consistent with the above.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively work in teams.
  • Proven experience as a strong and effective collaborator with a team focus.
